I first became interested in murals in a very tangible way when I was living at City Arts. Open Walls had just happened in 2012-2014 infusing some powerful contemporary art in the area of Station North. As a resident at City Arts, I was invited to go on an informal walk to view the walls and hear the stories of their installations. Months passed… I moved to Silver Spring, MD and a year later came back. When I returned, I found that I remembered nearly every story that I had been told on that original walk celebrating the ‘Open Walls’ movement led and organized by Gaia. It was at this time that AirBnb their new ‘experiences’ part of their company which allowed for locals to write and lead their own adventures. These adventures people could read about, pay for and join the local. I like the concept and began my journey with the Station North Mural Tour. 3 years later I wrote the Highlandtown Murak Tour and 2 years after that I wrote 6 tours in one year to arrive at our current 8 tours in 2023.
